Elvis singing Christmas songs – it’s the epitome of this holiday season. It’s not Christmas unless Elvis is with us. ๐ This year, it’s just M and me; we decided not to travel, and stay home. Try to find new traditions, maybe revamp some old ones. I’ll be working on the Czech Christmas cookies today – which rely heavily on flour, butter, and eggs, so it’ll be an experiment! Keep your fingers crossed. The other things we always have are wienerschnitzel and potato salad; instead we’ll be doing fish and potato salad. For Christmas day, it’s always been roast duck, dumplings, and cabbage… There is no substitute for that, so it’s where we’re looking to start new traditions. A veggie loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, still do the cabbage thing… We’re actually winging it a bit this holiday! I haven’t planned too much, just a rough set of options, and we’ll see what we feel like!
I’ll report back on how things went, and post a few more recipes (I’ve got about 5 in queue that I have yet to finish and publish – so apologies for a delay in posts!) later this week.
For now, I wish all of you all sorts of joy and love this holiday season, and a prosperous and happy new year! 2014 or bust, right?!
Merry Christmas, Veronica! Here’s to a quiet and lovely holiday exploring new traditions. Winging it is often the best mother of invention. Look forward to reading what you come up with! Blessings to both of you.
Thanks, Maria! We are psychic, writing on each others’ walls at the same time. ๐ Here’s also to much creativity and health in the new year!
